Seeing the monarch butterflies visit Lighthouse Field always fills me with joy. Santa Cruz is a place I’ve left and returned to in my own migrations over the years, and seeing these beautiful and delicate butterflies returning from journeys as far as 3000 miles away feels strangely reassuring.
